Poll Down, New Poll Up

Well, 100% of you have visited our online profile. Only two voted, but who said this was scientific research. There is a new poll up, so take a look, get counted and we'll look at results mid July.

In the meantime, Dan and I have been doing lots of research on additional domestic adoption opportunities and even checking out the Russian international adoption programs available. Lots to consider - AGAIN. The big question is are we making the right decisions or simply spinning our wheels? Check back often for the exciting conclusion ... or not. -Jodi

Hello Dan and Jodi,
My name is Paula and my husband is Tim. We have been married 21 years and have five beautiful children. Two joined our family by birth and three joined our family by adoption. We have one girl and four boys. We adopted ours thru the "Special Needs Program of Wisconsin". My daughter was born first and then 22 months later a boy. This after a lon battle with infertility and we had long since given up hope as we started trying right after we got married and Betsy was born seven long years later. Well after Jerry our son was born we planned to continue having children but I guess God had other plans as I just didn't get pregnant again and we have not used any birth control. We saw an ad in the Clark County Press that had a picture of a little boy that was looking for a forever home and my husband said to me "Why can't we do that?" So we sent for some information, went to a seminar, liked what we heard and applied. We expected an older child and that was okay. But again God had different plans. Wesley came to live with us when he was only eight months old, he had been abused by his birth father and they needed a home for foster care for him. Of course later his birth parents rights were terminated and he became a part of our family forever. While we were waiting to find out what was going to happen with Wesley, they called about Joey, he was five months old and had been abandoned and his birth mother had used drugs when she was pregnant. We went to Milwaukee to pick him up the next week and brought him home with us the day after we met him. In the meantime Wesley's birth mother got pregnant again by the same man and Christian was born thirteen weeks prematurely. He had a lot of health issues and went to live in foster care until he was healthy enough to come home to us at eleven months old. Now if you would like to see and hear more about our family please visit our blog at http://tpbjwjcbkr.blogspot.com Or search for Baker Blog II. Thanks so much for the information Paula. And bless you for raising five children. You're very lucky. I tried to look up the Special Needs Program of Wisconsin on Google and didn't have any luck finding it. Do you have a web address by any chance?

Hello Dan and Jodi,
I Emailed the case-worker that we had at the time, as I am still in touch with her. I asked her for a web-address for you. As soon as I hear back I'll get back to you!
